Brian/Debbie v Nicky/Wack.

N/W 7 points ahead with only black remaining. N/W Fouled on black.

I thought that ended the game in B/D's favour recalling "Any foul when only black remaining forfeited the game". Checked with Tim/Malc (don't blame me, like I would know the finer points of the game, I get confused between the order of the green and brown - Malc Hind) who both agreed. Ian I think disagreed later.

But........

On checking the rules at Worldsnooker.com there should have been a respotted black i.e..

Rule 4. End of Frame, Game or Match

    (a) When only the Black is left, the first score or foul ends the frame excepting only if the following conditions both apply:
        ( i ) the scores are then equal, and
        ( ii ) aggregate scores are not relevant.

Funnily enough this position has never happened in all the years we have been playing snooker.

The only other time I had to check for a ruling (also recently) was Dave assertion following a foul and a free ball being declared (only colours remaining) that "you are not allowed to lay a snooker behind the free ball nominated "except if unintentional"". The "except if unintentional" bit was untrue.

We are still sorting out "our" rules for billiards.

In terms of match results the frame did not affect the prizes, but should be declared a draw, giving Nick/Wack 1.5 points and Brian/Debbie .5 points.
